The good ones Slip away Well, we all do Good, bad, Beautiful, ugly Slipping away Doesn’t discriminate It’s coming For all of us But it seems Quite profound As I hear My Pops is having Trouble breathing He’s a good one Who lights up When I walk in the room? Pops. Who says, “Well, Sara!” When I call? Pops. Who exudes, “I’m proud of you, and I love you.” Pops. As Krista tells us, Being human is a fatal endeavor. Somehow, it’s still Hard to believe Until it shows up And hits you square In the heart And there it is And Here it comes, The slipping away And in comes Grief Grief is so familiar We are always Losing, Letting go, Dying, The leaves fall Every year And yet, When a good one Slips away It strikes me As something new And maybe That’s just it, The slipping away Is really Something Being made new

I love it! All so true.
When I have experienced these times in my life, I try to always remember that God loves and wants the best for our loved ones immensely more than we can ever imagine. So much he bought the ticket for the trip home.
This is awesome.
